Gedakina Events

Our multi-generational mentoring and support system helps nurture and encourage all women in the community. We offer a variety of activities weekly.

Gedakina and Indian Township Domestic Violence Advocacy Center Walk in Memory of Missing and Murdered Native Women

The Indian Township community came together for a sunset walk on May 5, 2026 to honor the memory of the Native women, girls, and 2-spirit people killed or still missing. Youth and elders alike came out for the event and shared conversation as they walked, wearing bright red. There was drumming and singing in remembrance of those lost and stolen. We mourn them May 5 and every day and say “No more stolen sisters!”
